About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and innovative nurse to join Te Toka Tumai-Auckland Hospital in the role of Clinical Nurse Specialist - Orthopaedics. This role provides clinical leadership through patient care coordination, exemplary clinical decision making skills and advanced practice. The ability to share your knowledge and skills with your staff nurse colleagues is critical in this role. You will be part of the Orthopaedic senior nursing team at an exciting time where we are developing an empowered team of senior nurses who can work both collaboratively and autonomously, facilitating our service to run efficiently and effectively, while ensuring an excellent patient journey. The Orthopaedic Services provide both acute and planned care based at Auckland City Hospital, seeing over 12,000 patients a year. We provide a range of Orthopaedic specialist services and are the major trauma hospital in the Auckland region. You will have the opportunity to be exposed to and involved in a variety of clinical scenarios requiring your specialist input. We are a leading teaching hospital closely associated with the University of Auckland.
This is Permanent full time role (40 hours per week), Monday to Sunday rostered shifts.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Our dynamic team of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Registrars, House Surgeons, Senior Nurses, Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants and Allied Health colleagues are mainly located across our two sites in Grafton and Greenlane (Outpatient Clinic)

About you
✔ As the successful applicant you will have a well-grounded clinical practice background, at least three to five years’ experience in Orthopaedics, and it is desirable to be working towards a postgraduate certificate or diploma in Orthopaedic specialty nursing practice. We are looking for an enthusiastic team member with excellent communication and problem solving skills.
