Starship Children’s Health (Auckland), the leading provider of child health care in New Zealand and the South Pacific has an exciting opportunity for a fixed-term full-time Paediatric Intensive Care (PICU) Transitional Fellow to join the PICU team for 12 months commencing from January 2025
Starship's Paediatric Intensive Care Unit is a busy 22 bedded functioning unit which:
Located in Auckland, New Zealand we are the only paediatric intensive care unit in the country which provides an opportunity to gain extensive experience in our nationwide paediatric retrieval service. In this role, you will work closely with a highly skilled and dedicated team of paediatric intensivists, registrars, allied health and nursing staff managing a wide range of acute conditions with multidisciplinary input. You will have a high level of autonomy with supervised on-call work and will be actively involved in the supervision of registrars and other unit activities. Clinical research will be strongly encouraged.

To be successful, you must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand and be registered, or eligible for such registration (General Registration). Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand. Preference will be given to New Zealand Citizens and New Zealand residents as per New Zealand employment requirements, though overseas candidates are welcome to apply.

· You should be either nearing the end of your CICM training or ideally, have recently completed a formal training programme
· Experience with acute pain management, cardiac intensive care, retrieval medicine
