Key leadership role with a strong strategic focus within Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora
About the role…
This is a role focused on supporting Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora and District Hospitals in the Auckland Region to build an RMO (junior doctor) workforce to meet their needs now and into the future.
This role involves leading the Recruitment and Allocation Team in the delivery of its services to the three Auckland region Districts, from recruitment to coordination of on-going employment and training rotations of the junior doctor RMO workforce. The role also provides leadership for the delivery of national graduate placement processes for Nurses and RMOs.
Reporting to the Portfolio Manager Workforce Operations the role will manage a team of 18 and will require proven managerial experience and leadership skills to ensure the team’s success. This role is key in supporting the development and implementation of new processes to streamline our regional approach and alignment nationally as we continue our transition to Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora to enable better healthcare provision for all New Zealanders.
The Recruitment and Allocation Manager will have accountability for the recruitment and allocation strategy both short and long term, resource management, processes, and systems, and will work with the counterparts on regional and national initiatives.
You will be applying with proven experience and display expertise in both managing delivery of services and effective engagement with senior/professional stakeholders.
About you…
· You have a proven track record in managing the effective delivery of services in a fast paced/ complex environment and success in a leadership role at a management level.
· You have an appropriate tertiary qualification and have well-developed leadership skills, with the ability to generate and deliver to strategic and operational plans to meet the requirements of your key stakeholders.
· You will be strong in relationship building, have exceptional communication skills and will be a team player with excellent people management.
· You can analyse data and trends and think through complex issues with a solution focus, managing your team to deliver agreed outputs in a timely manner.
· You have experience in high volume recruitment, sourcing and operational HR
· You will have natural curiosity and a continuous improvement outlook and have experience in managing and delivery of projects.

Health New Zealand Auckland region encompasses providing services to Auckland Te Toka Tumai, Waitematā and Counties Manukau Districts along with some recruitment and allocation support to Northland Te Tai Tokerau.
Our Workforce Operations teams are focused on supporting the District Hospitals to recruit, retain and support employment and training of the RMO (junior doctor) workforce to fill their needs now and into the future. This includes activities from recruitment through to daily operations support on site at the hospital, and all employment administration, support and planning in between.
