About the Role
Working as Dermatology Advanced Trainee
Dermatology is a fascinating speciality which includes aspects of medicine, surgery and pathology. Patients range from neonates to the elderly. Building from a sound base in General Medicine, you will learn about inflammatory skin diseases, skin malignancies, infections, infestations, autoimmune skin diseases, iatrogenic conditions and many more. Knowledge of dermatology can be of great value in many specialities including General Medicine, Rheumatology and Infectious Disease. There have been significant advances in therapeutic options in recent years. The Training Posts include positions with Greenlane Hospital (Auckland district); Counties Manukau district; Waikato Hospital and Christchurch Hospital.
These runs may be recognised, for those accepted onto the scheme, by the RACP as training positions for specialist qualification and will see the registrar responsible for the following:
