Medicine Registrar Basic Training
The Auckland region covers a large geographical area with a diverse range of cultures. During your 3 years as a Basic Trainee, you will have exposure to a broad and comprehensive range of clinical presentations and subspecialties that can be further developed during a subsequent Advanced Training program. As a New Zealand trainee of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) you will benefit from reimbursements for your training related expenses.
World Renowned Teaching Hospitals
By joining the Auckland Region as a Medicine Registrar, you enter a programme with rotations through world-renowned teaching hospitals - North Shore, Waitakere, Auckland City and Middlemore Hospitals, all of which are accredited training sites. You will have the opportunity to work alongside our passionate and knowledgeable senior clinicians who will provide you with supervision and mentorship.
We provide a comprehensive teaching programme designed to help trainees complete their physician exams and expand their core medical knowledge. Other learning opportunities include Grand Rounds, Journal Clubs and bedside teaching. FREE MEAL is also provided for staff on their shift.
Basic Trainee Runs/Placements
Medicine Registrar runs/placements in the Auckland region are six months in length starting January to June and June to January. Eligibility Criteria
Training completed previously outside Australia or New Zealand may be applied for as Recognition of Prior Learning.
Selection Process this year:
Applicants within NZ: Ranking and Scoring Process, followed by a Ranking Review Day with the Medicine VTC.
Applicants outside NZ: Ranking and Scoring Process + Interviews. Opportunity to meet us via interview process.
