We are looking for a senior registered nurse with proven leadership skills to take up this position in our Service.
The Oncology Nurse Specialist primarily provides clinical leadership and support to patients and their whānau during the patients Oncology treatment. This involves working collaboratively with Radiation and Medical Oncology multidisciplinary teams to provide care to patients based at Te Toka Tumai, Auckland, regionally at our local delivery sites and into community settings as the service expands.
It is important that you can provide professional and clinical leadership to support nursing teams, prioritise workload and work as part of a supportive senior nursing team so that excellent clinical care can flourish.
Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
· A commitment to biculturalism
· A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
· A current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
· Minimum Level 3 preferably Level 4 practice chemotherapy certified RN with a strong oncology nursing background
· Expert clinical knowledge and leadership skills
· Post graduate qualifications, preferably to master’s level with a focus on NP or prescribing pathways
· Innovative mindset and able to network with different stakeholders
· An ability to work effectively and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
· You will be competent in the use of IT systems, e.g. Microsoft Excel and various local databases.
· Be able to travel to regional sites
