About the role
Starship Child Health is looking for a core clinician to join our Speech-Language Therapy team in a 0.9FTE fixed term capacity. This role will be providing acute speech-language therapy input for children and their whānau (family) on the inpatient wards at Starship Children’s Hospital, as well as outpatient instrumental assessment clinics. The successful applicant will provide assessment and management for babies and children, primarily with paediatric dysphagia or feeding needs, across a broad range of specialisms in the acute setting. We are looking for someone that can demonstrate excellent clinical reasoning and use of evidence-based practice whilst upholding a flexible and pro-active approach. Superb organisational and communication skills, and an ability to work well in a team are a must, as well as a patient and supportive nature.

About the Team
The role forms part of the wider paediatric therapy team. The multi-disciplinary team of Dietetics, Hospital Play Specialists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Therapists and Social Workers work closely together to ensure best outcomes for our patient care needs. The team is based in the inpatient wards at Starship Children’s Hospital, as well as outpatient instrumental assessment clinics.
