Working for Te Toka Tumai | Auckland is an opportunity for you to make a real difference in the health and wellbeing of our Auckland community! We have an exciting opportunity for a Ward Clerk role to provide administrative and clerical support in Cardiovascular Service (Ward 38) at Auckland City Hospital. Ward 38 is a cardiology day stay ward which provides care for patient’s pre and post cardiac catheterisation in the adjacent Cardiac Investigations Unit. Its a busy ward with a small outpatient clinic area within the ward.

 This role is varied and involves a high level of customer contact.

You will be responsible for

• Maintaining patient's files
• Arranging and monitoring patient movements
• Ordering/invoicing and other administrative tasks
• Reception for Day Stay and the outpatient clinics.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills 

To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following:  

• At least 2 years experience in an admin, frontline or customer service role in a hospital setting, preferably with experience as a Ward Clerk
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft applications. PHS  / CHiP’s knowledge is desirable but noy required as training will be given
• Strong organisational skills
• Ability to work with a team of  health practitioners
• Excellent communication skills with a friendly style and a can-do attitude
• A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori

Demonstrate attention to detail and possess strong organisational skills with innovative ideasYou will be part of a high performing and supportive team who all have a common passion, care and enthusiasm for delivering a high quality experience and outcome for our patients.
