Te Toka Tumai, Auckland is one of the largest public healthcare providers in New Zealand with four specialist teaching hospitals: Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre, National Women's Health and Starship Children's Health.
An excellent opportunity exists at Te Toka Tumai Auckland within Respiratory Service for a Fellow to join us for 6 months in a fixed term position which will comprise of 50% research project and 50% respiratory clinical work
Respiratory Medicine at Te Toka Tumai Auckland provides respiratory care locally, regionally and nationally encompassing secondary services such as airways disease, bronchiectasis, lung cancer, pleural disease, interstitial lung disease, bronchoscopy (flexible EBUS and interventional) and sleep. We also provide regional services including TB, pulmonary hypertension and cystic fibrosis and the national lung transplant and CTEPH services. We have inpatients and outpatient clinics and an inpatient specialist respiratory consultation service. Respiratory medicine also undertakes research through Greenlane clinical centre and has a number of clinicians with higher degrees who lead investigator driven trials and supervise higher degree candidates. The service has respiratory and sleep physiology laboratories, and partners with the University of Auckland in respect to teaching.
