Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We are currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Clinical Coder Training and Development Manager to oversee the training and development of coders at Te Toka Tumai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the training and development programs to ensure an adequate supply of suitably trained coders and to ensure ongoing knowledge and skill updates.
Your responsibilities will include: -
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining the Clinical Coding Training & Development Plan
- Managing the enrolment of coders into HIMAA training courses
- Recruiting suitable candidates for training as entry-level coders
- Delivering entry-level training as required
- Providing ongoing supervision and mentorship to new coders
- Mentoring senior-level coders in quality aspects of the Clinical Coding Service
- Ensuring availability of resources, equipment, and technology for training and development
