Te Toka Tumai Auckland is one of the largest quality health providers in New Zealand offering a wide range of primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary services to around 1.8 million people in the northern region as well as nationally for specific specialities.
The Urology Department at Te Toka Tumai is seeking a qualified Urologist with sub-speciality interest in major open oncology as well as General Urology to join their team. Ideal applicants would have participated in post fellowship training in uro-oncology or had a minimum 12 month experience working as a consultant surgeon in the uro-oncology field.
Applicants should be aware that Te Toka Tumai Auckland currently has a limited robotics programme via North Shore Hospital. Oncology procedures are done via laparoscopy or open. Applicants should be competent at performing radical cystectomy and associated urinary diversion or reconstruction, retroperitoneal lymph node dissection, and open nephrectomy including caval thrombus resection. Experience in abdominal reconstruction of the urinary tract (cystoplasty, continent diversion) and post-renal transplant reconstruction is desirable.
The successful applicant will be based at Auckland Hospital and Greenlane Clinical Centre, where elective surgery for the population of Auckland City is performed, as well as participating in the acute on call roster for the Auckland Region. Outpatient clinics and day surgery are conducted at Greenlane Clinical Centre. An interest in clinical research is desirable.

To be eligible for this role you must hold or be eligible for vocational registration as a specialist Urologist with the Medical Council of New Zealand (https://www.mcnz.org.nz). You must have an excellent work record, an ability to integrate as part of a team, and a desire for public service.
