Our Cardiovascular department serves our local population and the greater northern region. Services include cardiothoracic surgery, interventional cardiology, vascular surgery and specialist intensive care for both cardiothoracic and vascular patients.

We also deliver the National Heart and Lung Transplant service on behalf of the entire New Zealand population, encompassing Organ Donation NZ and Transplant Recipient Coordination.

Our cardiothoracic surgical unit provides New Zealand’s foremost tertiary cardiothoracic services and is the highest volume unit in Australasia

Our Cardiology Service

Our Green Lane Cardiovascular Service is the largest public hospital cardiology department in NZ. We offer a full complement of sub-specialties in adult cardiology including coronary intervention, TAVI, complex electrophysiology, cardiac transplantation and adult congenital cardiology
