Our organisation is defined by our people, with heroes in every corner

Our Accolades & Research

We see stories of innovation, achievement, loyalty and professionalism and most of all care and commitment everyday. The excellence we bring to health care is consistently recognised not only by peers in New Zealand and internationally but more importantly by our patients and their whānau.

We're proud of our international reputation and are renowned academically as New Zealand’s largest teaching hospital. Our alliance with the University of Auckland and its Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences in the form of the Auckland Academic Health Alliance allows us to innovate, research and stimulate clinical teaching to ensure scientific breakthroughs and advances in medical care reach patients faster.

We’re thrilled to see so many examples of our people being recognised for excellence in clinical care, ground breaking research and for the way they respect our patients and their whānau. As well as those who create a team in which people can thrive together.

Our local heroes

Each month we recognise our people to who go above and beyond, living and breathing our values. Anyone can nominate a local hero, patients, their whānau, visitors and members of our Auckland DHB team.
