What does Auckland have to offer?
Auckland consistently ranks as one of the most liveable cities in the world with its stunning natural landscapes, mix of cultures and world class entertainment. Working in the Auckland Region you will have the opportunity to work alongside our passionate and knowledgeable senior clinicians who will provide you with world class supervision and mentorship.
Working as an Infectious Diseases Advanced Trainee
Infectious diseases physicians provide a predominantly hospital-based service, specialising in the various clinical, laboratory and public health aspects of infectious disease medicine and microbiology. Infectious Diseases trainees will be exposed to a wide range of complex clinical presentations and will have exposure to community and public health settings. The specialty of infectious diseases is based on clinical expertise as opposed to the use of more practical procedural or technical skills.
A key requirement of their role is the need to ensure that they keep up to date with global developments in infectious diseases and their potential impact within the local community.
Medicine Registrar Runs
Infectious Diseases Registrar runs in the Auckland region are six months in length, following which you may rotate into a different run. All runs are accredited for RACP Advanced Training in the Auckland region; provision of further runs beyond the initial six month allocation is subject to a competitive process due to limited training capacity. Example run descriptions for the 2022 training year can be viewed on the Auckland Doctors website. For further information on Advanced Training in New Zealand please visit the RACP website.
There are two types of jobs available:
