This is an exciting opportunity for a Medical Leader to enhance the provision of clinical services in Auckland District Health Board (ADHB)’s Mental Health and Addictions Directorate.
As Medical Director you will join a supportive team, including a Nursing Director, Allied Health Director and General Manager you will assist with developing and implementing a road map to take ADHB’s leading edge Mental Health Services into the future and driving change in the services to meet the evolving needs of the Auckland population.
The Medical Director will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to a 100 FTE medical workforce. The position is part time and the clinical component of the role is flexible, up to 50 per cent of the role. The position reports to the Directorate Director and is professionally accountable to the Chief Medical Officer.
This role will have a focus on Senior Medical Officer Workforce development and the successful candidate will also need to be involved in service development and on-going quality improvement initiatives.

You will currently hold Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, or if located overseas be eligible for Locum Tenens and Vocational Registration (www.mcnz.org.nz).
