Cardiology (Consultant Electrophysiology Cardiologist)
- 9 month maternity leave cover
The Auckland District Health Board invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for a locum position of senior medical officer (SMO) in adult cardiology (Electrophysiology) in the Green Lane Cardiovascular Service. This role will be for a 9 month period to cover maternity leave.
This position will be based at Auckland City Hospital (inpatient services) and the Green Lane Clinical Centre (outpatient services). Competencies in electrophysiology and/or device procedures are essential, and training in complex device, ablation in structural and congenital heart disease would be an advantage.
Auckland City Hospital is a large general hospital that provides secondary health services to the people of central Auckland, as well as tertiary and quaternary services regionally and nationally. The Green Lane Cardiovascular Service is the largest public hospital cardiology department in NZ. The full range of adult cardiology subspecialties is offered, including TAVI, complex electrophysiology and cardiac transplantation (national centre), and the appointee will be joining a dynamic clinical team.
The successful applicant must be eligible for vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council.
