Our busy, well equipped department offers staff opportunities to develop their careers through being involved in leading world-class clinical techniques, including SABR lung and spine treatments, VMAT and Deep Inhalation Breath Hold for breast patients. The department is a specialist paediatric centre for the upper North Island region.
Opportunities to work with a range of high spec technology supporting our clinical practice include:
- 4 Varian ix series Linacs with OBI, conebeam CT/ VMAT/IMRT capability
- 2 new Elekta Versa HD Linacs with FFF and Hexapod couches
- Ray Station and Pinnacle planning systems
- ARiA and MOSIAQ patient managements systems
- Brachytherapy and Superficial treatments
- 2 Siemens Sensation open CT scanners
We offer full orientation and excellent clinical support provided by our training team and colleagues. With a diverse team of nearly 70 radiation therapists, multiple Radiation Therapist roles become available during the year, which could see you advance your career providing opportunities you may not have in your current situation. We are supported by a team of 15 Radiation Oncologists, as well as Nursing and Medical Physics teams. The department fosters a collaborative culture, with leadership and continuous development opportunities, combined with New Zealand’s unique kiwi life style.
We are looking for radiation therapists with some experience who enjoy team work in a busy but engaging clinical environment, providing the highest levels of clinical quality and the best standards of personalised care possible to our patients. The Radiation Therapy Department is a modern and busy service with over 3000 new patients per year and the Department is one of the largest single site departments in Australasia.
