Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Sleep Physiologist to join the Sleep Lab, based at Auckland City Hospital which has the capacity to accommodate 8 patients. Our skilled team of 6 Physiologists work together to diagnose and treat sleep disordered breathing. We are seeking for someone who can complement this team.
This is a great opportunity to explore the scope of sleep medicine and work with patients in a fast-developing field of healthcare. The role available is a permanent full-time position with rostered shifts including day, evening and night shift work. The Respiratory Department have a combined lab with Sleep and Respiratory physiology to provide sleep physiology services which include but are not limited to, assessment and monitoring for sleep disordered breathing (sleep setup and monitoring of PSG), treatment using Noninvasive ventilation (CPAP/VPAP/Hi flow ), TcC02 studies, overnight oximetry and scoring of sleep studies. In addition, it also provides humidification treatment for tracheostomy patients on the wards. It is expected that this role includes liaising with other local health and professional groups in order to plan best management options for patient care.

The Starship Respiratory Physiology Laboratory is a combined Respiratory and Sleep physiology laboratory supporting a tertiary paediatric respiratory service with considerable national activity. In consequence, referred patients tend to have complex and severe chronic respiratory / sleep disorders necessitating highly specialized and broad needs for assessment and management.
