MOSS opportunity, General Medicine, Auckland City Hospital, Te Toka Tumai
We have two MOSS opportunities
- 1FTE permanent
- 0.55FTE, (12-month, fixed term)
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
General Medicine is an acute service based at Auckland City Hospital, part of the Adult Medical Services Directorate at Te Toka Tumai. We are a leading teaching hospital and closely associated with Auckland University. General Medicine is the core of the medical inpatient services and is supported by a range of tertiary services that you would expect in New Zealand’s largest hospital complex.
The General Medicine Department is looking to appoint General Medicine Medical Officers of Special Scale (MOSS) for either a permanent position or a part time 12-month, fixed term position, to provide assessment, diagnosis and management to patients who present to the service. The primary responsibility for the MOSS is to work in the Clinical Decision Unit to see and assess patients. The MOSS will also have the opportunity to develop an acute clinic along with the service leaders. A clear understanding of community options and the Hospital in the Home service will also be very important. The degree of autonomy in this role will vary depending on your level of experience but will always be supported by a vocationally registered General Medicine Specialist.
