Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We are looking for an exceptional and experienced Social Worker with a special interest in older people's mental health to join our team here at Fraser McDonald Unit.
Fraser McDonald Unit (FMU), Inpatient Mental Health Services for Older People, is a 15 bed acute in-patient admission ward located on the Auckland City Hospital site for people over the age of 65 years experiencing acute mental illness or behavioural difficulties associated with dementia.
In this role, you will coordinate and maintain oversight of the inpatient episode of care; promote recovery and timely discharge from the inpatient unit for identified clients. You will work collaboratively with our clients, their family/whanau and team members.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
As an ideal candidate, you will be registered with the New Zealand Social Worker Board with no conditions on your scope of practice, hold a current valid APC and have at least 2-year relevant experience. Experience working in Mental Health is essential.
