Starship Hospital and the Child Health Directorate is a dedicated paediatric healthcare service and major national teaching centre. Starship provides a wide range of complex medical, surgical, cardiac and mental health services for children and young people throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific, using a whānau-centred approach. Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Starship is seeking a strategic and influential nursing leader to improve experience and outcomes for the tamariki and rangatahi of Aotearoa. The role provides strategic, operational and professional leadership as a critical member of Starship’s Senior Leadership Team. This includes shaping the future of child health services, regionally and nationally. The role is a champion for Māori health equity and will lead Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action across the nursing workforce.
You will be accountable for a nursing workforce of 800 FTE. You will work collaboratively with internal and external partners including iwi and hapu to ensure continuous development and improvement of nursing strategy, delivery and equitable outcomes.

You must be able to demonstrate your understanding of and ability to lead and influence complex public health organisations at a systems level. You will have a track record of success in nursing workforce planning and development. You will have experience developing and enabling nurse leaders, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation that drives a strong patient and whānau focus.
